Who is actually behind these vehicles
Sponsors are ranked by the record they built, not by the size of their last raise. Completion rate is closed deals as a share of vehicles that have already resolved one way or the other. SPACs still searching are excluded, because an unfinished clock is not a result.

How a franchise is identified
Sponsor vehicles are incorporated per deal, with names like Gores Guggenheim Sponsor LLC or Churchill Sponsor XII LLC, so the entity named in a prospectus tells you about one SPAC, not about the house behind it. We read the sponsor entity from the prospectus, strip the legal wrapper and the sequence number, and pin the well-known franchises by name, because their vehicles abbreviate beyond recognition: Social Capital signs as “SCH Sponsor VI LLC”.
Where a prospectus never named a vehicle, the issuer name still groups a serial issuer correctly. Each sponsor page states which of the two established the grouping, so you can weigh it yourself.
Principals are officers named in the prospectus. Coverage is partial, because the prospectus states them in prose rather than in tagged data, and a blank means we have not read one, not that the seat is empty.
